Watchman's Note
This is a journey to the best designs in the world of Zazzle.com. Handpicked and presented (along with my own artwork) by yours truly, the driving force behind Surreality designs. We'll discover great artists and special products -mostly with a taste for the eccentric. But let us not confine ourselves in specific genres: the possibilities are endless and so is the great art one can find at Zazzle.

Fighting beauty
The silhouette of a sexy, swimsuit-wearing lady and typography in pink seem to clash with a call to action and fighting. That's what I thought and that's how this idea came to life. The lady's pose is a classic old-school model's posture, yet the silhouetted raised fist can be viewed as the symbol of protest and uprising.
The woman inclines on huge, pink letters but they spell "fight" and their grungy texture is far from pristine.
I find this contradiction humorous and interesting -even slightly political. It's the latest addition in my Vectoria work and you may find it in the Fight Lady section of my store.

Monkey business
A monkey girl (70s styled) looks at a guinea pig: a cultural mashup in pink! This exquisite piece of work comes from Matthew Dunn, an artist with great ideas and a strange sense of humor -just what the doctor ordered!
His art is strongly based on comics (just look at the camera angle of this design!) but doesn't stop exploring new styles and concepts. I love his illustrations, his colors and -most of all- his surreal view on things!

Cogito ergo... sum?
I won't try to guess what René Descartes would say about this quote, but I love it's doubtfulness.Maybe I'm sick and tired of people feeling they have to project authority and attitude all the time. Maybe it's the way it brings a playful and undermining look to a landmark of western philosophy.
This simple text design by Idea Designs really stands on a great idea -just like the gallery's name promises. And, altough I've said before that most simple quote "designs" don't do it for me, I really enjoy finding those smart exceptions to my rule. This one's great. I think.

Tender, vintage and eccentric!
The stuff you can find in Pumpkin & Honeybunny is mostly based on vintage elements. At times they are tender, sweet and nostalgic but some times they have this touch of unreal weirdness I really like! Take this birthday card, for example. I love the colors and the composition, but what sets it really apart is those trapeze artist children: aloof, almost solemn. I really like this card.
Another great design is this vintage pink piggy:
I believe it looks super-cool in this tote, but you can find it in several other products as well. It's playful, cute and, yet, dreamilike.
