Reminiscing about llamas

Nothing like a trip down memory lane to think about good times, llamas and this crazy bunch that changed comedy -and the way we view the world- forevah! Yeah, I know, there are people who think that Monty Python is the used-to-be-geek-but-is-so-mainstream-now kind of thing but I think that's silly. The true Masters of their Art remain Masters -that's the reason they were not a passing fad in the first place.

I had totally forgotten about this sketch until I saw it again recently. And I remembered the outrageous talent and the unparalleled inventiveness of these guys. True paradigm shifters. So, I had to share.

Mildred on a ski mask

Have you ever considered your torso as a face with a ski mask? This trippy t-shirt by Mildred gives a new meaning to the eyes without a face concept. Eccentric, surreal, unexpectedly funny... A talented artist offering just what the doctor ordered!
I also liked Mildred's blog and you may like it too.

Absurd surreality

A mysterious collage inspired by the work of Marcel Duchamp (I'm still in my Dada mood!), where a gentleman's head becomes a map. This is a black and white poster for the surreal minded, by Squaresquire.
It's incredible to see this kind of art looking fresh and retro at the same time. Hang it on your wall and feel your head expand!

A taste for soap

Is this an attitude t-shirt? A high school joke or an attempt to create a meme? I'm not sure, but it has a certain charm, like a surreal prophecy made by an oracle with a wacky sense of humor. It certainly is a design for those bold enough to appreciate the absurd and eccentric. It could prove to be a crazy equivalent to "as you sow, so shall you reap". And I like it!
You'll find this, among countless humorous and meme-themed designs, in Pirates vs Ninjas store.

Warm nonsense

Travelling Light card

I see this bird (is it a seagull?) flying on a cloudless sky and I get a warm feeling inside. Outside roars the winter, but the bird on the card belongs to a different plane. A plane created by Dewk and Dazy,  the creative minds of Double Exhibition, a store with a keen eye for strange collages.

Dada and absurdism (plus a surreal kind of tender, subterranean humour) permeate their work and surprises the mind. I'm glad to have found them and we'll be seeing more unusual stuff from the loose "association" they are allied to: a bunch of talented dadaist minds that constitute one of the most creative niches of the Zazzle ecosystem!

Printed koan

Spiraling Buddhas, over-saturation (reminding of lomography), and strangeness make this poster unique. It seems that not even koans resist photo-manipulation!
A koan (or kōan) is a seemingly irrational statement that may be accessed through intuition. Koans play an important role on Zen Buddhism and they are created mainly to shock the mind into awareness. "What is the sound of one hand clapping?" may be the most famous. It also served as an inspiration to talented Unruly-e, who tried to answer by creating a visual koan, eccentric and delicious enough to catch my attention (and yours, I'm sure).
