This is a journey to the best designs in the world of Zazzle.com. Handpicked and presented (along with my own artwork) by yours truly, the driving force behind Surreality designs. We'll discover great artists and special products -mostly with a taste for the eccentric. But let us not confine ourselves in specific genres: the possibilities are endless and so is the great art one can find at Zazzle.

Helvetica, the neue black

Graphic designers and font lovers will appreciate this humorous homage to Helvetica (especially the Neue Helvetica font family, which brought the much-loved typeface to the modern era). It's a simple text design that tells it like it is!
I found this t-shirt on Busted Nut Designs and I couldn't resist the temptation! It's smart, funny and (hey!) it's about Helvetica.

Some of us have no trouble communicating our unusual personalities to the world! So, for all you weirdos out there, this is the ultimate t-shirt! This crazy cartoon/bird/unidentifiable creature hugs the word weirdo -while sporting an amiable hat, I might add.
Great design by Andi Bird, a graphic designer from California. Kudos for making a shirt that suits my mood!

A wife and a pig

Today's find is a hilarious character from Kimberly Hoffard, that reminds me of Terry Gilliam's style (and everyone knows that's a good thing!). I can't help but wonder: Who is Claude? Why did he marry this funny, bespectacled, mustachioed lady?

Kimberly's paintings are humorous, imaginative and playful. Another one of my favorites is her Vampire Pig, the cutest pink abomination you could wish for!

Christmas is just around the corner, so this is the perfect time for presenting you with Surreality Watch's Top 5 in Santa Claus-themed greeting cards. Some vintage Santa designs are astonishing and probably deserve their own post, but today we're focusing on contemporary artists. Here it goes:

(1)
I love the stylized Santa boot on this playful card by Christmas Gift Store!

(2)
An elegant Santa monkey using it's tail to spell "Joy". Great work from LJ Rounds.

A surfer Santa runs off to catch the Big One in this funny cartoon by Raycasso.

(4)

Grant Wood's American Gothic gets the Santa treatment in this parody by F Bod Studios.

The song's verse gets a humorous new meaning in the hands of cartoonist Joe Kohl.

Wild bunnies

I had never thought about it: what if bunnies had dentures like these? They may be all smiles now, but I'm pretty sure that, sooner or later, strange -and possibly violent- things could happen! Thanks to this weird and funny mug by Michael Dodge (aka KLAATUWI), we are forewarned.
Michael, an imaginative doodler, has a sense of humor I really like!

Star Wars fail

So far I have avoided the mega-brands, but there comes a time when you have to give it to the big fish: some things cannot be overlooked! What we have here is an epic design, the mother of all sci-fi Fail images. Found at  a galaxy not very far away from your own keyboards, the Star Wars Shop.
The All Terrain Armored Transport (of The Empire Strikes Back fame) are endearingly known as AT-AT and, in this case, prove to be less fearsome than expected. Well, you know what they say about size...
